Our ducks have finally started laying eggs! In our climate, they will stop laying in the winter until the days begin to lengthen in spring. Fortunately, our seasonal wait is over and we have been finding two or three of these little morsels sitting on the floor of the coop each morning this week.
Do duck eggs taste like chicken eggs? Yes they do. They are a little bigger, have a larger yolk and a slightly firmer texture, but the flavor is much the same. For more information about duck eggs, check out our page about raising ducks.
