It’s time to start! February 1st is a little early, but we are going to get some seeds going anyway. We will be starting some exceptionally cold-hardy “Winterbor” and “Nash Green” kale in 4-packs filled with coco coir. Coir is a finely ground coconut husk which functions as a seed starting medium. Wet the coir first and be careful not to compact it when filling the pots. Sow the seeds just deep enough to cover them completely. These starts should be ready to go out into the garden around the middle of March. In the meantime, we will place them in a sunny window and keep them evenly moist. More details to come as they grow.
