Snow!

As is typical in the Denver area, we got a bit of spring snow last night and it was, as usual, quite a bit more than the forecast indicated.

Fortunately, everything inside the greenhouse is just fine with our small electric heater keeping the interior of the greenhouse warm enough for our plants to thrive even with the temperature dipping into the teens last night. The greenhouse is sagging a little under the weight of the snow, but everything inside is still thriving.

Note: a greenhouse is always a wet environment and it is important to be very careful when using electricity. We always keep all plugs up off the ground and move all electrical devices out of the way when watering.

We will keep on gardening despite the weather. We have already started potting up some of our greens to grow in the greenhouse using our own Blend hydroponic fertilizer. These hydroponic salad greens should be ready to harvest very early this spring.
