We are running a little behind schedule for planting our warm season crops so we have been planting lots of tomatoes, basil, peppers, and squash over the last few days. We usually start these seeds in early April so we are playing catch-up a little bit.
Remember that larger seeds, like these summer squash and zucchini seeds, need to be planted a little deeper. We are planting these an inch or so deep, while the tomato and basil seeds in the other flats here are barely covered.
Meanwhile, outside in the garden…
The greens we planted about a week ago are doing quite well. It often takes a few days or even a week for newly transplanted starts to adjust to their new location and really start growing so have patience when planting them out.
